Mauka Warriors Luau
- 4 hours (approx.)
Overview
Mauka Warriors Luau tells the story of Polynesia's warriors, a part of the islands' history that most luaus leave out. The evening starts with hands-on activities before the show: cooking demonstrations at the umu (an underground oven, opened in front of guests), temporary Polynesian tattoos, lei and headpiece making, kava tasting, hula lessons and photos with traditional weapons. Dinner is an all-you-can-eat Polynesian feast, with kalua pork, taro rolls, grilled pineapple, vegetarian and kid-friendly dishes, served to live island music. After dark the drums start and the show moves through Polynesian history and dance, including the Battle of Kipapa and Kamehameha's campaign to unite the islands, and ends with one of Oahu's largest fire performances. Choose the Royal (front), Premium (middle) or Classic (rear) package; each sets your seating section, lei and drink tickets.
