Jet Ski Ride on Maunalua Bay in Hawaiʻi Kai
- 1 hour 30 minutes (approx.)
Overview
H2O Sports Hawaii runs jet ski rides on Maunalua Bay in Hawaiʻi Kai, a short drive east of Waikīkī, away from the crowded Waikīkī lineup. After checking in at the office in the Hawaiʻi Kai Shopping Center, which sits on a private marina, a shuttle boat takes you about eight minutes out to the company's floating activity platform. Riders board Yamaha VX-series WaveRunners from a HydroHost dock with no swimming needed, then ride for 30 minutes on a buoy-marked course in a designated area of the bay, as Hawaiʻi state rules require, with views of Diamond Head and Koko Head. You can ride solo or tandem: a solo ticket is one rider on one ski, and a tandem ticket covers a driver and a passenger sharing one ski. Drivers can switch at a buoy partway through the ride. Allow about 90 minutes for the whole visit, including the shuttle and some waiting for your group. The crew photographs and films the rides, and the pictures and videos can be viewed and bought at the office's media center.
